The original house was a beautiful example of mid century modern architecture that sat perfectly on its expansive corner lot. Even though it offered a stark juxtaposition to the architectural styles of its 110 yr old neighbours we got a sense from the neighbourhood that this was a well respected departure from the architectural norm of the block. The natural light in this project is second to none. A south facing corner lot gives full sun exposure to three different sides of the house. The result is a “magic hour” of light that lasts the whole day.
